I started my career in the Aerospace industry as a Life Cycle Engineer for Rolls-Royce. Later, I worked as a technical writer for Bombardier Aerospace. Following my passion and avoiding corporate drama led me to the Education industry afterward. While a technical writer, I taught IELTS test prep and GRE verbal classes in an institute near my residence. I fell in love with teaching and the feeling when I was able to help students achieve their desired scores.
I enjoyed being a teacher and trainer, making me take up corporate office training programs. I conducted Leadership Development, Soft Skills, Stress Management, and Time Management programs in several companies like Indus Towers, Muthoot Finance, and Maruthi.
Later, along with the training programs in MNCs and other Indian companies, I started exploring working with colleges, specifically with placement departments for engineering graduates. I helped hundreds of students get their dream jobs by providing soft skills training and mock interviews to aid placements.
In total, I carry an 11+yrs of work experience in various fields.
Then, I partnered with a mentor and friend, Payal Malik to start an Institute in Bangalore to provide preparatory classes for exams like IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, and PTE. Our business flourished, and we were able to help hundreds of students achieve the score they needed. I did feel a bit tied down by the limitations of a brick-and-mortar shop. The need for more space to teach more students and the time required to travel to the institute during rush hours in Bengaluru meant restrictions. However, COVID in 2020 changed the scenario in education in India and all other parts of the world. I successfully started online training programs and live classes, with almost everyone studying online from home for a year. I learned that this shift to online learning mode is a win-win as far as test prep is concerned. My students and I saved a lot of time and resources. I could reach more students as there were no more physical barriers. Today I continue teaching and preparing students, and it gives me immense pleasure to do so.
